Shadow Pipa is a pipa special-technique phrase sample library designed for Eastern wuxia, ancient-style, historical, and Eastern fantasy scoring. It was recorded and performed by renowned pipa virtuoso Sun Ying.
This library includes short phrases of various special pipa techniques, as well as short FX phrases and atonal short phrases. It also features creepy-style long and short phrases, madness-style phrases, transition phrases, and more. Categorized by use case, it is drag-and-drop ready and supports convenient adjustment of phrase position, tempo, and scale.

The pipa occupies a unique place in Eastern wuxia scoring. Its timbre combines percussive grain and tension—techniques such as tremolo, sweeping, twisted strings, and bending can express tension, desolation, tenderness, and deadly severity. It is one of the most recognizable and irreplaceable core timbres in wuxia scoring.
